Deputy General Counsel
Matt Wilde joined Boise State University and the Office of the General Counsel as Deputy General Counsel in January of 2013. Prior to joining Boise State, Matt clerked for the Honorable Daniel C. Hurlbutt, former presiding judge for the Snake River Basin Adjudication, a general stream water rights adjudication, and gained trial experience in the Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Boise City Attorney.
At the City Attorney’s Office for more than 16 years, Matt managed 10 employees and gained broad experience representing many departments. He was primary counsel to the Departments of Aviation (Boise Airport) and Public Works. He has extensive experience in the areas of aviation and transportation law, real property law, public entity capital facility/infrastructure financing and construction, water law, and local and state legislative matters.
Matt received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pacific Lutheran University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1994.
Associate General Counsel and Senior Counsel for Research, Intellectual Property and Industry Ventures
Suzy joined Boise State University as Associate General Counsel in May 2010. She comes to Boise State from The University of Texas System, where she held the position of Senior Legal Officer for Intellectual Property for The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the largest research institution within The University of Texas System. Suzy also spent 10 years in private practice, where she specialized in Patent Strategy and Enforcement for clients such as Merck & Co., Shell Oil Co. and Celanese Corp. Suzy graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University and holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Biology and was a faculty Instructor of Genetics at Emory University while she attended law school in Atlanta, Georgia.
Timothy P. Fearnside
Associate General Counsel
Tim joined Boise State University in 2006 as Associate General Counsel. Before joining Boise State, Tim worked as an attorney in private practice with the Boise law firm of Givens Pursley LLP, where he focused on general civil and commercial litigation. Tim received his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University in his native Ohio and his law degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane.
Associate General Counsel
Nicole Trammel Pantera, a Boise native, joined Boise State University as Associate General Counsel in April 2014. Prior to joining Boise State, Ms. Pantera practiced at Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley in the areas of public finance & municipal law, as well as general corporate and corporate finance transactions. Prior to joining Hawley Troxell, Ms. Pantera clerked for the Honorable Jim Jones at the Idaho Supreme Court. Ms. Pantera’s experience includes various types of financing structures, including revenue bonds, general obligations bonds, special assessment bonds, tax and revenue anticipation notes and commercial paper and negotiating and drafting contracts of all types. In addition to her legal experience, Ms. Pantera serves as the President of The City Club of Boise, and is a member of Idaho Women Lawyers.
Ms. Pantera received a Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Willamette University College of Law in 2003
Senior Paralegal/Director of Foreign Faculty Services
Kendra Smith joined Boise State University in 2001 as a paralegal. Before joining Boise State, Kendra worked in private practice as a paralegal where she worked in civil litigation and in criminal defense. Kendra received her undergraduate degree from University of Idaho and her paralegal certification from the Denver Paralegal Institute.
Rachel joined Boise State University in 2014 as the Contracts Administrator. She previously worked at Boise State University in 2006 as the Director of Donor Relations for the University Advancement Office. Before joining Boise State, Rachel worked as a management assistant, a deputy clerk and operations supervisor in both the Magistrate and District Court divisions and in a Boise law firm where she worked in civil litigation. Rachel received her undergraduate degree from Boise State University, and a Leadership and Court Management Certification from the National Center for State Courts.
Administrative Assistant II
Susie joined the Office of the General Counsel in March 2014. She graduated from Boise State University in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and an emphasis in Organizational & Relational Studies. While attending Boise State, Susie worked in the Communication Department for three years, beginning as a Work Study Office Assistant and then as the Department Peer Academic Advisor. Before her return to school Susie spent many years working in the private and non-profit sectors in administrative, human resource and supervisory roles.

Maria graduated from Boise State University in 2013. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Art, with an emphasis in Photography. While attending Boise State, Maria worked in the office of the Department of Art, beginning as a student employee and transitioning to the position of Office Specialist II after graduation. Maria joined the Office of the General Counsel in August of 2014.
